New Frame Care Instructions
Your new glasses deserve only the best care. This will support a longer lasting product and clearer, better vision.
We recommend using specialised optical lens cleaner and spray to clean your lenses, which we have included with your purchase.
It sounds obvious, when not wearing your glasses, keep them in a case and don’t wear them on the top of your head! Follow the below tips for your new frames.
Care and Cleaning Tips:
- Always put glasses on and off with both hands to help maintain the original shape of the glasses or sunglasses.
- Do not place the lens down on a surface as it may result in scratched lenses. Always carry your glasses in their case.
- Keep an eye on the screws that hold the frame together and, if you find one is loose, tighten it gently with a small screwdriver.
- Keep out of the heat as it may cause lens or frame warping, so keep them away from places like the dash of your car.
- Clean your glasses regularly with lens cleaner. Then wipe them dry with the micro-fibre lens cloth.
- Alternately, rinse the glasses under gentle warm (not hot) water, rub with tiny dish detergent. Then dry with cleaning cloth or soft tissues.
How to get used to wearing Multifocals:
1. Do not wear your old glasses during the adaption period. Switching back and forth slows down the process of retraining your brain to focus through the new lenses.
2. Wear you glasses high and close to your nose bridge. This position will maximise the viewing area of each lens.
3. To see far away, keep your eyes centred and straight, move your head in the direction you want to look, and focus on the top part of the lenses.
4. To read, keep your head still, move your eyes and look through the bottom half of you lenses.
5. Be patience and take it slowly, your brain needs time to adjust. If you vision isn’t clear after a couple of weeks, please email contact your Optometrist or visit one of our stores.
...and remember, we offer free cleaning and adjustment services at all stores.
